Apparently, this is the newborn edition featuring a baby coyote and seven baby Quail (running away from me as fast as they could, which is surprisingly quickly).
There were about five baby coyotes this spring. The most we ever saw together were three. They don’t enjoy posing for photographs. I’ve been coming to Joshua Tree for about 35 years, and this was the first time I’d seen young coyotes.
